As our Engineer, you will: Provide fast and efficient installation, diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance to all the machinery, plant and equipment within the factory, keeping the Senior Works Engineer fully informed and up-to-date; Carry out basic electrical fault diagnosis and repairs; Work with the Senior Works Engineer to facilitate large or major repairs to plant and equipment; Assist in the development and implementation of a planned maintenance programme in consultation with the Senior Works Engineer; Demonstrate the effectiveness of planned maintenance through reducing numbers of breakdowns and problem-free equipment installations; Purchase sundries, machine parts and services, in liaison with the Senior Works Engineer, with due regard for stock levels and overall budget; Arrange, assist and direct external contractors for specialist work or installations in consultation with the Senior Works Engineer and Operations Director; Participate in the technical aspects of capital investment decisions; Advise senior management on Health and Safety issues or concerns. Higher level qualification in engineering or manufacturing. Solid understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanics. Familiarity using various power and hand tools. Ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy loads. Problem-solving and organisational skills - a self-starter who is well organised, positive, flexible and highly motivated to get the job done efficiently and safely using own initiative, and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and ability to work some overtime.
