Location: Kettering General Hospital, Northamptonshire Contract Type: Permanent Salary: Band 5 NHS Agenda for Change About the Role Kettering General Hospital is recruiting a Biomedical Scientist to join its Clinical Biochemistry Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to become part of a busy laboratory service delivering high-quality diagnostic testing and supporting patient care across the Trust. The successful candidate will rotate through all areas of the laboratory, including Automation, Manual Biochemistry, and Fetal Anomaly Screening, whilst contributing to the ongoing development of the service. Key Responsibilities Perform complex biochemical analysis of clinical specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols Rotate through all sections of the Clinical Biochemistry laboratory Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical equipment Validate and authorise analytical results using appropriate quality control procedures Participate in the laboratorys 24-hour service rota, including out-of-hours duties Support UKAS accreditation requirements and quality management processes Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation Process External Quality Assessment (EQA) samples in a timely manner Support stock control and equipment maintenance activities
